We are pleased to announce the launch of a new analytics dashboard in Coherence. This feature is designed with two main objectives in mind: to provide a clear way to monitor your team's usage, adoption, and impact of the platform, and to deliver actionable insights and benchmarks for your development workflow. After synthesizing customer feedback and leading industry analogs, we identified three key buckets of metrics to help achieve these goals.
This provides a straightforward view of how your team uses Coherence. You can track active and new preview environments, and build pipelines per user, which will help in gauging adoption and managing resources effectively. For those adapting to our billing model based on monthly build pipelines, this feature will be particularly useful.
We know how critical build speed is to your day to day work. In October we added some charts to help you diagnose slow or anomalous activity on the individual build level. In our new build performance chart, you can now see both activity breakdown and runtime by service as daily averages over time. Our goal is to make it easier for you to find areas for optimization and observe their impact empirically.
This bucket is designed to measure the size and pace of your software releases. It includes tracking the frequency and size (LOC) of production releases in addition to key PR metrics like age, size, and cycle time. This will give you a clearer understanding of your team's output and efficiency. We’ve got a comprehensive in-depth post about velocity here.
This is just an initial step towards providing more comprehensive analytics. In the future, we plan to support organization-level analytics, full DORA metrics, and time-based reporting integrated with tools like Slack and email. We believe Coherence is well-positioned to offer even more sophisticated and valuable insights into the complete software development lifecycle.
Please take some time to explore our new analytics dashboard and share your feedback. Your input is essential in guiding the development of our analytics and reporting features in Coherence. Happy tracking!
